He was predeceased by: his parents, Neil Johnston and Ila Johnston; and his daughter Celeste Scales. He is survived by: his wife Margery Klinge of Madison; his children, Damon Johnston (Trisha) of Lone Rock, Darin Johnston (Deb) of Muscoda, Dana Johnston (Doug Cvetkovich) of Sun Prairie and Adam Scales of Oxford; his stepdaughters, Robyn Klinge (Justin Schmitz) of Madison and Jana Smith (TJ) of Bozeman, MT.; and his brothers, Craig Johnston (Rachel) of Marshfield and Brian Johnston (Vicki Bauer) of Loyal.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the American Legion Post 481 (5337 River Rd, Waunakee, WI 53597). The military honors will be held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
