He was predeceased by: his wife Gertrude Zimmerman; his great grandchild Stetson Moest; and his siblings, Alois Moest Jr. and Rose Noeske. He is survived by: his children, Denise Moest, Steve Moest (Janeen), Kathi Moest and Jim Moest (Jolene); his grandchildren, Abby, Becca, Grant, Elizabeth, Jacob, Ben, Nicole and Jackie; and his sisters, Mary Auer, Ann Moest, Josie Koester and Helen Moest. He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church (229 W Washington Pl, Freeport, IL 61032). A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
