He is survived by: his wife Judith Nelson (Calnin); his daughters, Debra Burmah and Melissa Herman (Dean); his stepson Charlie Denson (Amber); his grandchildren, Mariah, Alyssa, Trevor Burmah, Isabella and Tanner Herman; his stepgrandchildren, Zoe Denson, Jazmin Crouch, Brandon Herman and Matt Rosas; his great grandchildren, Tyrone, Larissa, Jaycyn, Liam and Lane; his siblings, Jim Nelson (Connie), Gary Nelson, Dennis Nelson (Carla) and Diane Nelson; his caregiver Risa; and his nephew Mikey. He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Dane County Humane Society.
