She was predeceased by: her parents, John Sager and Doretha Sager; her husband John Gillitzer; her brothers, Virgil Sager and Herbert Sager; and her siblings-in-law, Dennis Check, Bob Secord, Thomas Gillitzer, Ruth Sager, Anna Gillitzer and Genevieve Secord.

She is survived by: her grandchildren, Brian Virnig (Eileen), Crystal Pahl (Nicholas), Mark Virnig, Ross Virnig, Steven Hoffman (Kathryn) and Lindsay Richards; her great grandchildren, Rana (Fran), Alec (Ashley), Chloe (Greg), Ian, Teagan and Samuel; her brother Kenneth Sager; and her sister-in-law Lorraine Richter (Roger). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Edith's name can be made to St. Andrew Catholic Church or Agrace Hospice.
