We are sad to announce that on April 12, 2024, at the age of 89, Esther L. Hedfield (Madison, Wisconsin) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In bidding Esther adieu, let us not mourn the silence that now fills the spaces Esther once occupied, but rather celebrate the vibrant colors she painted upon the canvas of our lives. For while she may have departed from this earthly realm, her spirit remains a beacon of light, guiding us through the darkest of nights.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Dorothy Lerdahl (Whitford) and Nels Christian Lerdahl; and her sister Judith. She is survived by : her husband Hagen Hedfield of Madison; her daughters, Ellen Hedfield and Susan Hedfield-Lerdahl; her granddaughters, Olivia Daponde and Claudia Daponde; and her brothers, Alfred Lerdahl and Stephen Lerdahl. She is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, May 12th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Cress Center (6021 University Ave, Madison, WI 53705).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made in Esther's name to the Madison Symphony Orchestra or The Friends of Pheasant Branch Conservancy.
