Francis Murphy Obituary

We are sad to announce that on May 6, 2026, at the age of 93, Francis Murphy (Madison, Wisconsin) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Joanne Murphy (Neuheisel); his parents, Earl Murphy and Gladys Murphy; and his in-laws, Donald, Marilyn Murphy, Rosemary, Bud Olson, Harlan, Kathleen Murphy, Wendall Murphy, Robert Murphy, Earl Murphy, Jerry Murphy, Tom Murphy, Hubert, Celia Neuheisel, Eugene and Delores Neuheisel.

He is survived by: his children, Dennis Murphy (Natalie), Mary Stoflet (Bob), Jim Murphy (Diana), Diane Alexander Gilbert (Pat), Maureen Barsema (Mike) and Carol Vander Sluis (Brian); his grandchildren, Hilliary, Brad, Autumn, Lydia, Alicia, Rosalyn, Clarissa, Jamaal, Dominique, Katie, Melissa, Christi and Kyle; and his great grandchildren, Preston, Parker, Jackson, Marley, Miles, Myzell, Urijah, Beckett, Brooke, Aiden and Tyler. He is also survived by his dad and older brothers, taking care of the animals.

Visitation was held on Friday, May 15th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church (602 Everglade Dr, Madison, WI 53717). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, May 15th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A Mass was held on Friday, May 15th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, May 15th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Resurrection Cemetery (2705 Regent St, Madison, WI 53705).
