Gerald Roger Shields Obituary

We are sad to announce that on July 13, 2025, at the age of 88, Gerald Roger Shields of Madison, Wisconsin passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Gerald Roger Shields to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Shields and Velma Shields (Brace); his sister Sally Shields; his parents-in-law, Russell and Marjorie Lyford; and his brother-in-law Garelt Stahl.

He is survived by: his wife Ruth Ann (Lyford); his daughters, Christine Kann (Joe) and Carin Rabas (Andrew); his grandchildren, Elynn Sanchez (David), Rebecca Kann (Josh Newman), Anthony Rabas, Ryan Rabas and Nicole Rabas; and his great grandchildren, Arthur and Penelope Sanchez. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, July 17th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Gunderson Fitchburg Funeral & Cremation Care (2950 Chapel Valley Rd, Fitchburg, WI 53711). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 at 11:45 AM at the same location.
