He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Shields and Velma Shields (Brace); his sister Sally Shields; his parents-in-law, Russell and Marjorie Lyford; and his brother-in-law Garelt Stahl.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Ann (Lyford); his daughters, Christine Kann (Joe) and Carin Rabas (Andrew); his grandchildren, Elynn Sanchez (David), Rebecca Kann (Josh Newman), Anthony Rabas, Ryan Rabas and Nicole Rabas; and his great grandchildren, Arthur and Penelope Sanchez. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
