It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joan Elizabeth (Olson) Shaul of Madison, Wisconsin, who passed away on January 3, 2023, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Einar Olson and Johanna Olson (Kaupanger); and her brother Don. She is survived by: her husband Donald; her children, Michael and Kimberly (Patrick Riha); her grandchildren, Brent Shaul, Andrea Hepfinger, Michael Hepfinger, Amy Riha and Ryan Riha; and her pets, Miley, Lucy and Minnie. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes to continue Joan's legacy of helping others and has set up the Joan E. Shaul Scholarship Fund to help those who want to be certified as nursing assistants or other healthcare professions. Donations may also be made to St. Paul's Liberty Lutheran Church.
