We are sad to announce that on November 12, 2025 we had to say goodbye to Joan P. Unrein of Madison, Wisconsin, born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, John Parker and Roberta Parker; her children, Ellen Kemnitz and Karl Unrein; her sister Ann Spence; her parents-in-law, Joseph and Viola Unrein; and her brother-in-law Joseph Unrein.

She is survived by: her husband Raymond Unrein of Madison, Wis.; her grandchildren, Rebecca Kemnitz (Uel Kolesar) of Madison, Karl Kemnitz of Milwaukee and Sarah Kemnitz of Minocqua; her brothers, Robert Parker (Elizabeth) of Hamden, Conn. and Richard Parker (Vagner) of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; her brother-in-law Fredrick Unrein (Barbara) of Milwaukee, Wis.; her siblings' children, Tom, Kelly, Peter, Karen, Kristi, Jill, Mike and Amy; Tony Kemnitz of Weston, Wis..

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and on Saturday, November 29th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Oakwood Village East Chapel (5565 Tancho Dr, Madison, WI 53718). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 29th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:15 PM at the Oak Hill Cemetery (1200 E Madison St, Waterloo, WI 53594).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Karl J. Unrein and Ellen T. Kemnitz Memorial Scholarship Fund.
