Joyce Marie Espelien Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joyce Marie Espelien of Madison, Wisconsin, who passed away on May 12, 2026, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Heuser and Ella Heuser (Richmueller); her husband Emrick Espelien; her son James Steven Espelien; and her siblings, Henry Heuser, Arlene Owens (Alfred), Janice Geier (Julius), Esther Hayes (Jim), Donald Heuser (Gloria), Frederick Heuser (Ludell) and Wilfred Heuser (Sally).
She is survived by: her daughter Debra Crooker (David); her grandchildren, Melissa Katherine and William David (Rachel); and her great grandchildren, Cora, Leo Crooker and Adalynn Crooker. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 20th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bethel Lutheran Church (312 Wisconsin Ave, Madison, WI 53703). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 20th 2026 at 11:00 AM and from 12:00 PM to 1:15 PM. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 20th 2026 from 1:30 PM to 1:45 PM at the Roselawn Memorial Park (401 Femrite Dr, Monona, WI 53716).
