He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Riggs and C. Fern Riggs (McLafferty); his former wife Kathy; his brother Tom Riggs; his sister-in-law Shirley Riggs; his grandson Justin Gordon; and his nephew Christopher Wait.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Riggs; his children, Mary Pat Gordon (Gary) of Freeport, Kevin Riggs (Lori) of DeLand and David Riggs (Melaney) of St. Paul, Minnesota; his grandchildren, Michael Gordon of Los Angeles and Emma Gordon of Freeport, Illinois; and his niece Sonja Wait of Kingwood, Texas..
