He was predeceased by: his parents, Nora Seay (Ward) and Mack Seay Sr.; his son Mark David Seay; his brothers, Alfred Lee Roy, Gerald and Everett; his siblings-in-law, John LaFontaine and Jean Seay; his niece Emily Seay; and his grandson David Humphrey.
He is survived by: his siblings, Will, Virgil, Dan (Linda), Ernie (Sherry), Vernon, Loretta LaFontaine (Seay), Sharon Raney Reeves (Seay) and Mary Seay; his wife Shelba Byrnes; and his children, Lisa Seay Laufenberg (Paul), Deborah Seay Humphrey, Guy Seay Powers, Tammy Seay, Michael Seay, Matthew Seay (Michelle), Shelley Seay and Melody Seay Carroll (Joseph). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 5 Great grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
