He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Dowling and Regina Dowling (Rupp); his wife Cecile Dowling; his son Philip Lee Dowling; his brothers, Donald Dowling and Leroy "L. J." Dowling; and his sisters-in-law, Suzanne Dowling, Herta Abesser, Rosemary Dowling and Helen Dowling.
He is survived by: his son Patrick "Pat" Dowling (Joan); and his grandchildren, Brian Dowling, Kimberly Dowling (Nicholas Schmidt), Tina Dowling, Parker Dowling and Brogan Dowling.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church (5101 Schofield St, Monona, WI 53716). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 from 1:15 PM to 1:30 PM at the Roselawn Memorial Park (401 Femrite Dr, Monona, WI 53716). The military honors will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 1:45 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church (5101 Schofield St, Monona, WI 53716).
Memorials may be made to the Monona Public Library, Immaculate Heart of Mary Endowment Fund or San Damiano Foundation.
