He was predeceased by: his daughter Sarah; his parents, Walter Basting and Emma Basting (Greeley); and his siblings, Doris Shampo, Betty Lemke and Walter Basting.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Basting (Moritz); his children, Matthew Basting (Jennifer), Nathaniel Basting (Shaun) and Katherine Ryan (Joseph); his grandchildren, Mackenzie (Nathan), Nicholas, Joycelyn, Chloe, Norah and Joseph; his great grandchildren, Talon and Faelene; his sister Kathy Reinke; Dick. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
