He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Richard Lichtfeld and Grace Lichtfeld (Harms); his mother-in-law Mari Anne Breen; his children, Chris, Melanie (Davis Clark) and Peter; his wife Mari Anne; his grandchildren, Grady Ganta, Megan Dunneisen (Kevin), Kameo Renaud (Ryan), Elynn Lichtfeld and Nolan Lichtfeld; his great grandchildren, Ellie, Kacie, Skylee Dunneisen, Ryland and River Renaud; and his brothers, David (Joan) and Douglas (Deb). He was also cherished by nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

In lieu of flowers a memorial is being set up to honor Dick's passion for the Civil War.
