He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd E. Westervelt and Frances Westervelt (Doremus); his wife Lucille Offerdahl; his son Scott; and his grandson Devin.

He is survived by: his children, Bruce Westervelt (Mary) and Susan Miller; his grandsons, Alex, Robert (Alicia), Michael and David; and his great grandchildren, Lucille and Charles.
