It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Shelbee Matis (Madison, Wisconsin), born in Cleveland, Ohio, who passed away on June 15, 2022, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Henry Schlesinger and Sophie Schlesinger; her husband Louis Matis; and her children, Craig and Shoshannah.
She continued making wooden sculptures, and donated two from this series to the library in Randall School on Madison's near west side that her grandchildren, Taylor and Mikaela, attended.
