David Gedalecia wrote a sympathy message

“Sherry was a good friend and colleague at Wooster College, where we were both hired In the Fall of 1971. Sherry was fearful of dogs but gradually made friends with our Pekingese, Taffy. This allayed her fears of canines, and eventually she had one of her own, Chauncey. Sherry was a masterful math teacher at Wooster who brought humor and unconventionality to her teaching. Sherry became godmother to our son Derek Gedalecia, and they became fast friends. My wife Pei-hsin and I miss her.”
