He is survived by: his wife Diane Bisanz; his son Christopher Backes (Kari); his grandchildren, Keenan and Kelvin; his children, Eric (Stephanie) and Brittany Pratt (Daniel); and his siblings, Susan Jarvela (Michael), Jeanne Backes, John Backes (Sharon), Joseph Backes (Susan Deming), Margaret Szoke (Edward), Elizabeth Backes (Thomas Prough) and Robert Backes (Cecily). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other cherished family members and friends.
