He is survived by: his wife Pauline Peterson; his children, Bill Jr. Banta (Pam) and Kristi Zimmerman (Rick); his grandchildren, Alysse Banta, Brandon Zimmerman and Erin Harried (Ross); his great grandchildren, Hayden, Winston and Leighton Harried; and his siblings, Mary Lee Ivalis and Geoffrey Banta (Vicki).
Memorials may be directed to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Madison and the American Legion Post No. 220 in Soldiers Grove.
