He was predeceased by : his parents, Clarence Freund and Edwina Freund (Buechel); and his sister Mary Hug. He is survived by : his wife Karen Forward; his sons, Shane Freund, Zachary Freund and Blaine Freund; his caregiver Karen Forward; and his siblings, Patricia Buechel (Paul), Donna Lefeber (Jerome), Annette Lefeber (Michael), Diane Keifenheim (Wayne), Earl Freund, Wayne Freund (Carrie) and Stan Freund (Lori). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
