He was predeceased by: his wife Kathryn Flater; his son Brian Flater; his parents, William Flater and Alice Flater (Nemmutz); and his sister Margaret Bailey.
He is survived by: his son Ronald Flater (Janet); his daughter-in-law Jacqueline Flater; his grandsons, Brandon Flater (Morgan) and Trevor Flater; and his sisters, Delores Seefeldt and Ardella Pethke.
