She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Maples and Edith Maples (Scheurell); her son Christopher Brown; her boyfriend Howard Shaw; her sister Rita Maples; and her brothers-in-law, James Basler and David LaFleur.

She is survived by: her daughter Chantel Shaw (Devonte); her grandchildren, Aaron, Jayvon, Kameron, Logan and Landon; her sisters, Mary Basler, JoAnn LaFleur and Lynn Maples; and her nieces and nephews, Anthony Basler (Nou), Sarah Kunstmann (Joshua), Jennifer Van (Robert) and Jeremiah LaFleur (Erika).
