David Warren Frank Obituary

David W. Frank, 29, of Manitowoc, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2019 at St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee following severe medical conditions.
Born December 26, 1989 in Denver, CO, to Terry A. and Jan M. Mecus Frank. He attended Sheboygan area schools, graduated from Sheboygan Christian High School in 2008, and moved to Manitowoc in 2015.
David was a State Licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist at HearingLife in Manitowoc, previously working at Abundant Life Hearing Health & More, Inc. in Manitowoc. David’s patients appreciated his compassion, care and conversation. David was a member of Hope Community Church in Manitowoc, and enjoyed fellowship and camaraderie in the young adult group ministry.
David was tremendously gifted in the fine arts and you could often times find joyful comics exemplifying his personality anywhere and on anything he could sketch on. He loved boating, swimming, camping, and backpacking. Often, his free-spirited nature had him hopping in his truck, turning up the radio and finding old dirt trails to get lost on. David was an avid Packer and Brewer fan, and enjoyed grilling during all these events, rain, snow or shine. To friends and family he soon became known as the “grill-master”.
David had a kind, loving, and generous heart. Being like a big teddy bear, his hugs were filled with warmth and reassurance, and he would often give them freely to those who wanted and needed it. With a quick-witted sense of humor, David's impromptu comments and impersonations brought an unrestrained, carefree laughter to those around him. Silly nicknames for his and his fiancé’s two kitties Elric and Lucy came easily and often in loving endearment, never replacing the memories of his longtime companion, and cat since childhood, Freddy.
He is survived by his parents, Terry (Eileen M.) Frank, Sheboygan, and Pastor Jan M. Wirth, West Bend; his brother, Christopher Frank, Sheboygan Falls; his sister, Tamara (Josh) Salchert, Sheboygan; his fiancé, Lindsay Danen, Manitowoc; his maternal grandmother, Joan Mecus, Brookfield; his uncles, Anthony (Carol) Frank, Glen Burnie, MD and Gary (Virginia) Mecus, Atlanta, GA,; his aunts, Diane (Owen) Burns, Germantown, and Julie (Kurt) Podewils, Milwaukee; numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Warren Mecus, his paternal grandparents, Howard and Charlotte Frank, and his uncle, Thomas Frank.
A memorial services for David will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 25, 2019 at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue. Pastor Andy Shanholtz will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Monday for visitation starting at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the ICU at St. Luke's Medical Center for all of their loving care and support.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Sheboygan has been entrusted with David's arrangements.
David will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
