He was predeceased by: his parents, William F Zabel and Esther Zabel (Holzhueter); his wife Lois Joy Schmeling of Mark's Lutheran Church; his brother Donald; his siblings-in-law, Georgiann, Royal Ihlenfeld (Jefferson), Carolyn and Kenneth Lindert (Watertown); his parents-in-law, Herbert and Dorothea Schmeling (Watertown); and his nephews, Edward Hall V, Jay Ihlenfeld and Gregory Lindert.
He is survived by: his children, Linda Fitch (Thomas Watkins), Wendy Zabel of Ocala, FL, Timothy, Steven (Karen Jeans-Timler) of Greenville, WI and David (Analyn) of Watertown, WI; his grandchildren, Olivia, Curtis, Gabriella, Melania and Zian; his sisters, Marilyn (Edward Hall) and Mukwanago; his goddaughter Deb Hall-Kind; Jane Zabel. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
