He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Sprang and Katherine Sprang (Windus); his wife Marie Brouchoud; his brother Donnie Sprang; and his siblings-in-law, Jeff Keil, Scott Mrotek, John Orth, Ronnie Popp, Leroy Brouchoud, Lloyd Waack, Bill Fischer and Margaret Brouchoud.

He is survived by: his children, Paula Sprang (Randy Wanek) and Joey Sprang (Brooke); his grandchildren, Devon Smith, Braydon Sprang, Cora Sprang, Ellison Biely and Sullivan Biely; his siblings, Carolyn Orth, Joanne Popp, Roger Sprang (Sandy), Mary Mrotek and Annie Sprang (Keil); and his sisters-in-law, Donna Sprang, Mildred Fischer and Janet Waack. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
