He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Brochtrup and Leona Brochtrup (Carney); his former wife Elizabeth Verhoven; his daughter Bonnie; his brother Robert Brochtrup (Jeanette); and his brother-in-law Ronald Thiel.
He is survived by: his wife Rita Brochtrup; his children, Brenda Schultz, Jr. (Don), Brian Brochtrup (Rose), Jerry Brochtrup (Tina) and Julie Arft (Mark); his grandchildren, Bradley Schultz (Beckee), Danielle Phillips (Anthony), Elliot Arft (Holly) and Aleigha Schreiber (Brad); his great grandchildren, Ezra, Alexis, Ariana, Alaina, Amelia, Aurora, Ezekiel and Gideon; his siblings, Kenneth Brochtrup (Bernice) and Mary Lou Thiel; and his stepchildren, Ronald Linsmeier (Jean), Daniel Linsmeier (Joan), Kennard Linsmeier (Blanca), Steven Linsmeier (Lee Ann) and Kim Specht (Edward). He is also survived by numerous step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.
