We announce the death of John William Mecha (Manitowoc, Wisconsin), who passed away on October 11, 2026, at the age of 91. John will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Mecha and Edith Mecha; his wife Shirley Koene; his son Joseph; and his siblings, Leon and Marie.
He is survived by: his sons, William and Edward (Liana); his grandchildren, Daniel (Katie), Jessica (Josh), Chris and Justine; his great grandchildren, Hailey and Landon; and his sister-in-law Denise.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. James Catholic Church-Cooperstown (18228 County Rd R, Denmark, WI 54208). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
