With profound sadness, we say goodbye to William Behnke of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, born in Reedsville, Wisconsin, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. William left this world on October 17, 2025 at the age of 89, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his mother Elsie Behnke; his parents-in-law, Harvey and Martha Carstens; his son-in-law Mike Sickinger; and his siblings-in-law, Emil Carstens (Evelyn), Marie Carstens (Leonard), Elmer Carstens (Evelyn) and Harvey Carstens Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Carstens; his children, David Behnke (Brenda), Laurel (Chris), Heijer, Daniel Behnke (Colinda), Paul Behnke (Donna) and Mark Behnke (Heather); his grandchildren, Erica Schoenike (Derick), Johathan Behnke (Faith), Dustin Behnke (Jessica), Stacy Schweppe (Craig), Morgan Sickinger, Megan Jensen (Nic), Marlee Sickinger, Michelle Steiner (Chris), Maleah Sickinger (Al Simonis), Z. Micah Sickinger and Hunter Behnke; his siblings, Wilmer Behnke (Dixie) and Deanna Brandes (Randy); and his sister-in-law Betty Carstens. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church (2426 N Rapids Rd, Manitowoc, WI 54220). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials in Bill's name.
