With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Axel H. Wiitala of Maple, Wisconsin, who passed away on April 25, 2026 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Eli Wiitala and Tyne Wiitala (Archie); his wife Patsy Kiiski; and his brothers, Martin Wiitala, Sr. (Nancy), Rueben Wiitala (Nancy) and William Wiitala.
He is survived by: his daughters, Lisa Prell (Steve) and Tina Cardinal (Ty Kasper); his grandchildren, Jordyn Prell (Kaitlyn Rothamer), Amber Slovonic (Patrick) and Payton Cardinal; his great grandchildren, Blakely and Saraiya; his siblings-in-law, Eva Wiitala, Tim Kiiski (Peggy) and Tom Kiiski (Rosie); and his friends, Jeanette Coleman, Larry Brown and Kay Johnson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
