She was predeceased by: her parents, Violet Johnson (Hausen) and Sidney Johnson; and her brother Mark Johnson. She is survived by: her husband Rick Searing; her daughter Cynthia Berg; her brothers, Gregg and Gary Johnson; her sister-in-law Rene Johnson; and her stepchildren, Emily Shimpach (Dirk), Ben Searing (Teresa) and Katie Gergen (Brian). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren.
