He was predeceased by : his parents, Raymond Sommers and Eunice Sommers; his wife Janet England; his brother Jim Sommers; and his sister-in-law Kay Sommers.

He is survived by : his son Kevin Sommers (Kaye); his grandchildren, Amanda VanGrinsven (Mike), Kyle Sommers and Rachel Sommers (Matthew); his great grandchildren, Hannah, Jordan and Brynn; and his siblings, Darlene Wondergem (Tom) and Delmer Sommers.
