He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Chmela and Anna Chmela (Liebmann); his wife Grace; his son David Chmela; his sisters, Virginia Johnson and Anita Hemminger; and his children-in-law, Linda Chmela and Thomas Beyer.
He is survived by: his children, Mike Chmela, Linda Christensen (Russ), Kenneth Chmela (Denise), Mary Beyer, Amy Vanko (Matthew) and Betty Jansen; and his grandchildren, Michele, Tina, Michael, Jr., Nick, Tami, Becky, Bill, Teri, Matthew, Nathan, Calvin, Isaac and Chase. He is also survived by great-great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church (1501 Thomas St, Marinette, WI 54143). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
