He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Johnston and Lydia Johnston (Race-Olson); his wife Patricia Lysakowski; his daughter-in-law Susan; his grandson Kenneth Flood Jr.; his great grandchild Benjamin Hawes; and his siblings, Henry, Charley, Jim, Edward and Hazel.

He is survived by: his children, Donna Pintarelli (Ernest) of Wausaukee, Sandy Beyler (Chris) of Porterfield, Bill Johnston (S. F. Sheila Hammak) of Monroe, VA, Cathy Kapla (Jeff) of Ann Arbor, MI, Joseph A. Johnston (Connie) of Marinette and Patti Johnston (Phil Johnson) of Marinette; his grandchildren, Benjamin, Jennifer (Steven), Joseph, Adam (Nancy), David (Sabrina), Chris, Luke (Mandy), Casey, Chelsey (Erik), James and Michael; his great grandchildren, Justin, Brennen, Tenley, Sophia, Aria, Mary-Sue and Scout Susan; and his brother Everette Johnston (Beverly). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
