It is with sadness that the passing of William Fred Mengert of Marion, Wisconsin is shared. William, born on August 6, 1937, passed away on June 22, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Mengert and Anna Mengert (Klotzbuecher); his son Mykel Mengert; his sister Marian Mengert; his in-laws, Fred and Edna Poppe; and his brothers-in-law, James F. Poppe and Douglas Fritz.

He is survived by: his wife Joan M. Poppe; his children, James Mengert, Timothy Mengert (Diane), Merry Arndt (David), Robert Mengert (Michele) and Paul Mengert (Melissa); his stepdaughters, Tracy Narf and Rachael Fischer; his grandchildren, Anna Jo Majeskie (Nate), Zak Mengert (Jamie), Ashley Eggers (Paul), Shane Arndt (Sarah), Derek Arndt (Jessica), Sami Thompson (Alex), Tylor Mengert, Meg Vanden Wymelenberg (Jordan) and Kate Mengert; his stepgrandchildren, Kai Narf, Ethan, Jonah and Caleb Duwell; his great grandchildren, Brynn, Baylee, Brody Arndt, Rilee Mengert and Logan Eggers; and his sisters-in-law, Janet Fritz and Dorothy Poppe.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bill's name are preferred to be directed to St. Johns Lutheran Church, Marion.
