He was predeceased by: his parents, Maurice Laper and Margaret Vinz Laper; his son Todd Laper; and his siblings, Thomas Laper and Linda Esse.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Starbird of John's Lutheran Church; his daughters, Sheila Schmidt (Matt) of Markesan, DeAnna Johnson (Paul) of Cambria and Laurie Laper of Plymouth, Minnesota; his grandchildren, Elise Dahlke (Josh), Mason Schmidt (Jennifer), Adrian Johnson, Samuel Johnson and Alexis Johnson; his great grandchildren, Evan, Owen Dahlke, Nash, Reagan and Easton Schmidt; his brothers, Donald Laper (Carol), James Laper and Curtis Laper; and his sister-in-law Kathy Starbird. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
