It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald M. Stangl of Marshfield, Wisconsin, who passed away on April 13, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Donald M. Stangl to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Stangl and Margaret Stangl (Collier); his brother-in-law Carl Brazell; his niece Cathy Brazell; and his nephew-in-law Adam Townsend.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Schellinger; his children, Shelby Stangl, Gregg Stangl (Judy), Renee Stangl (Andrew Wagner), Jon Stangl (Amy Jurgensen) and Sara Nordbeck (Mark Wiegert); his sisters, Shari Stangl and Nancy Brazell; his grandchildren, Jennifer Latuff (Will), Alec Hannum (Hannah), Michael Stangl (Jenn), Mandi Carleton (Ian), Jill Nikolai (Stephane Briand), Amy Nikolai (Kevin Wang), MaryAnn Stangl, Maggie Stangl, Morgan Nordbeck (Luke Behling) and Jack Nordbeck (Tana Albrecht); and his great grandchildren, Ethan, Max, Siena, Hazen, Emma, Gabriel, Raphael, Frederick, Anna, Nolan and Cooper.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A rosary was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 at 6:30 PM at the Rembs Funeral Home (300 S Oak Ave, Marshfield, WI 54449). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. John's Catholic Church (201 W Blodgett St, Marshfield, WI 54449).
For those wishing to express their sympathy, the family welcomes donations in lieu of flowers, which will be donated to BEPCO, an organization committed to preserving, protecting and improving the Big Eau Pleine Reservoir, a cause he passionately supported.
