He was predeceased by: his parents, Ted Hanson and Etola Koplien Hanson of Milladore; his daughter-in-law Vicki Hanson; his siblings, Clifford, Roger, Hjalmer, Joyce, Shirley and Lorretta; and his brothers-in-law, Bill Dibble and Marvin Hildebrandt.

He is survived by: his wife Joanne; his sons, Jerry (Angie Voight) and Terry; his stepgrandchildren, Kasey Scholl, Jim Scholl of Watertown, SD, Tony, Tyler and Hannah Johnson of Depere; his sister Velma Wolfe; and his siblings-in-law, Suzan Hanson, Sharon Hanson, Joel Strack, Carla Strack, Jim Strack, Dawn Strack, Jeff Strack and Connie Strack of Weston. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
