As Gloria departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Gloria may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Gloria leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Al Hestekind and Mae Hestekind; her husband Dennie Helixon; her brother Duane Hestekind; and her brothers-in-law, Jerry Poplawski and Richard Knar.
She is survived by: her sisters, Sonja Poplawski and Renee Knar; and her pet Scotter. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She gave generously of her time in many other ways as well—serving 15 years as secretary of the Phillips School Board, 15 years as treasurer of Trinity Lutheran Church, and contributing to the Anne Marie Foundation.
