With sadness, we share the passing of John G. Mayer of Marshfield, Wisconsin. John, born on July 10, 1967, passed away on September 1, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father George Mayer; his uncles, Frank Mayer, Marlin Etlicher and Duke Schueller; his aunt Romayne; and his pet Elsa.
He is survived by: his mother Patricia Mayer (Spielman); his sister Mary Schneider (Joe); his niece Susan Horne (Cody); his nephew Joe Schneider (Sarah); his great-niece Claire; his great-nephews, Justin, Ellis and Kasen; his close friends, Steve Grosheck, Joe Rudolph and Ralph Haefner; and his pet Pippin.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Resurrection Catholic Church (621 N 2nd St, Wausau, WI 54403). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in John's memory to the Marshfield Clinic Research Institute- Cancer Care & Research Center and Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
