He was predeceased by: his parents, Thor C. Sande, and Eleanor Sande, Sr. (Kuechenmeister); and his sister Eleanor Geissler. He is survived by: his wife Marti B. Rahm; his children, Matthew Sande of Marshfield and Christian Sande (Kristin) of Duluth, MN; his grandchild Serenity McKean; his siblings, Marie Wilbur of Boyd, Carolyn McCabe of Hot Springs, AR, Michael Sande and Daniel Sande of Cadott; and his caregiver Amy.
