He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Westlund and Ruth Westlund (Olson); his son Dale; his granddaughter Amy; and his siblings, Bob, Gerry and Earl.

He is survived by: his wife Elaine Lampson; his children, Phil Westlund (Laura), Bambi Pattermann (Pat), Brian Westlund and Brad Westlund (Jackie); his grandchildren, PJ Westlund (Amanda), Mindy Schreiner (Alex), Vincent Pattermann, Tom Pattermann (Nikki), Michael Westlund (Erica), Megan Jolma (Max), Tom Westlund (Val), Mariah, Michelle and DJ; and his siblings, Herb Westlund (Lois) and Eunice Newlon. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
