He was predeceased by: his parents, Milford Gilbert and Violet Gilbert (Miller); his parents-in-law, Arlie and Beatrice Krohn; his siblings, Nathan Gilbert (Alice), Allen Gilbert, Jonathan Gilbert and Janet Waldner; his brothers-in-law, Jim Waldner and Fred Bruesewitz; and his in-laws, Ardis Officer (Lonnie), Dave Krohn, Wayne Krohn (Marsha), Judy Krohn, Sally Sweet (Jim), Lyle Krohn and Scott Krohn.
He is survived by: his wife Jewel; his children, Corey Gilbert (Sheila) and Candi Quimby (Dave); his grandsons, Andrew Powers (Morgan) and Alex Powers; his great grandchildren, Maddox, Delilah and Beckett Powers; his siblings, Philip Gilbert (Sharon), Dale Gilbert (Kathy), Ruth Bruesewitz and Debbie Gilbert; and his siblings-in-law, Minnie Gilbert, Ronnie Krohn (Judy), Paulette Anderson (Dennis), Paul Krohn (Arlene), Sandi Sjoman (Warren) and Donna Krohn. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Mayville Golf Course (325 S German St, Mayville, WI 53050).
