He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolph Semrau and Martha Semrau; his wife Linda Giese; his in-laws, Clarence and Loretta Giese; his half-brother Ewald; and his sister-in-law Lylas Semrau.

He is survived by: his children, Heidi Weiss (Dale), David Semrau (Julie), Eric Semrau (Elizabeth) and Jonathan Semrau (Tracy); his grandchildren, Brittany Freund (Adam), Natasha Kleinke (Adam), Miranda Legas (Cody), Garrett Semrau, Alexus LaMonte (Justin), Paige Semrau, Treyton Semrau, Ali Semrau, Chloe Adia Semrau, Olivia Semrau and Harper Semrau; his great grandchildren, Evelynn, Jace Freund, Gracelynn, Barrett Kleinke, Lincoln, Briggs Legas and Liam LaMonte; his brothers, Hartmund Semrau (Robin) and Wolfgang Semrau (Sharon); and his in-laws, Larry Giese (Sylvia), Lloyd Giese (Karen), Loren Giese (Shirley) and Leroy Giese (Cindy). He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
