He was predeceased by: his wife Jo Ann Kearny; his siblings, Jerry, Richard Bernhagen and Idella "Peck" Smith; his son David Bernhagen; his grandson Patrick Bernhagen; his brothers-in-law, Lee Phillips and Howard Egner; and his nephews, Daniel, Mark Egner and Michael Carpenter.
He is survived by: his children, Dean Bernhagen and Dwight Bernhagen (Desiree Ramos); his grandchildren, Leah Poulos (Jake) and Paul Bernhagen; his stepgrandchildren, Franchesca Mazariegos Beswick (Jorge) and Massiel Beswick; his great grandchildren, Paul and Isaac Mazariegos Beswick; his sisters, Judy Phillips and Jeanne Carpenter; and his sister-in-law Jeanette Egner. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Cress Funeral & Cremation Service - McFarland (5801 US-51, McFarland, WI 53558). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Cress Funeral Home (5801 US-51, McFarland, WI 53558). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the American Legion Post #534 (4911 Burma Rd, McFarland, WI 53558).
