He was predeceased by: his parents, John "Jack" O'Connor and Jane O'Connor (Hultkrans); and his sister Mollie O'Connor. He is survived by: his wife Sandra McTavish; his sons, Sean O'Connor (Woojeong Shin) and Jack O'Connor; and his siblings, Susan Stevens, Connie Jirak (Richard), Mary Brandt (Gavin) and Vince O'Connor (Lynn).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family, who will establish a scholarship in John's honor through the McFarland Education Foundation.
