Ashley Julaine Thomas Obituary
Ashley Julaine Thomas, affectionately known as 'Smash', passed away unexpectedly on July 12th, 2024. She was born on March 29th, 1984 in Milwaukee, WI. She was only 40 years old and all those who loved her are profoundly desolated by her loss.
Ashley is survived by her loving son, Elek; her devoted parents, Kathleen (Steve) Schoenauer and Dan (Tammy) Thomas; and her adoring partner, Daren Marienthal. Forever cherished by her siblings, Darin (Kristina) Thomas, Danny (Amanda) Thomas, Jr., and Madelyn (Jensen) Thomas, and Michael Schoenauer. She was a very present and beloved Aunt of Lucille and Theodore.
Ashley grew up in Milwaukee and Menomonee Falls. As a class of 2002 graduate of Milwaukee Lutheran High School, she was a 4-year varsity cheerleader, hosted a foreign exchange student from Norway, and established relationships that would underpin her life.
Graduating from the Institute of Beauty and Wellness in 2004, Ashley worked as a hairstylist in Sanibel, FL before returning home to be further from hurricanes and closer to family. Ashley was blessed with a son in 2010 and was an incredible mother surrounding Elek with guidance, support and loving godparents. In 2012, Ashley became managing partner at Lush Suites and Salon in Menomonee Falls in a location that was finished, fitted, and staffed largely by friends and family.
Ashley continued her passion of helping people by completing her Associates Degree in Nursing in 2019. In her calling as a registered nurse, she provided her patients with excellent care along with love and compassion.
A beautiful person inside and out, her support and devotion was felt by so many. She was a good-listener, fun to be around, a reliable and courteous driver, and always on 'AT time.'. She loved beaches, sand, sunshine, athleisure and all genres of music. Farmer's markets, White Claw Wednesdays, trips to Florida, softball games, or a quiet night at home with loved ones were some of her favorite things to do.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made towards Elek's future education and long-term security. Donations may be sent via Venmo to https://venmo.com.
Visitation will be at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, W196N9525 Cross View Way Menomonee Falls on Saturday, July 20th from 10am until 1:30pm. Memorial Service will follow at 2pm.
