Of Menomonee Falls. Reunited with his beloved wife Gloria on July 31, 2025 at the age of 94. Loving father of Richard (Patricia), Kenneth (Mary Alice), the late Donald, William, Thomas (Karen) and Christopher (Barbara). Beloved grandfather of Amanda (Joel) Strassburg, Jacqueline (Ryan) Ziegler, Emily (fiancé Joseph Nick Hull), Isabelle (fiancé Turner Seay), Anna and Adam. Proud great-grandpa of Nathan, Kylie, Naomi, Elsie, Molly, Lucy, Charlotte and Evelyn. Loving brother of Edward and Mary Jane. Preceded in death by his siblings John, Gertrude, Elizabeth, Michael, Susan and Richard. Further survived by other family and friends.
August proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He was a dedicated and hardworking man who spent 38 years as a district sales manager for the Milwaukee Journal newspaper, where he built lasting relationships and took great pride in his work. In addition, August owned and operated a T.V. repair business, earning a reputation as the go-to person for anything electronic. With a voltmeter and schematic, there was little he couldn't repair. He loved spending time with his family and was an avid Packers and Brewers fan.
Visitation will be held at Schmidt and Bartelt Funeral Home, N84 W17983 Menomonee Ave, Menomonee Falls, WI 53051, Saturday, August 16 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. with a service to follow at 11:00 a.m. August will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee, WI.

The funeral home's main entrance on Menomonee Ave is under construction. It is open for traffic coming westbound from Appleton Ave but not eastbound. There are two other entrances.
