Barbara A. Woerner Obituary

Of Menomonee Falls, went home to the Lord on January 26, 2023, at the age of 86 years. Barb was born on December 30, 1936, a daughter of Norman and Dorothy (Rapp) Barnes. She graduated with a BS in Economics from UW-Milwaukee in 1958. Barb married her best friend and the love of her life, Albert "Al" Woerner on February 23, 1957. They began their life journey together in Milwaukee and then settled in Sussex, WI. They were happily in love for over 40 years prior to Al's passing. She was an active member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. From serving on various church committees, sewing banners for the sanctuary, or volunteering her time, Barb was faithfully dedicated to her church family. She and Al would often volunteer at Pine Lake Church Camp, Lutheran Brotherhood, and various other outreach opportunities. Barb and Al owned and operated Barnes Appliance Company for several years. After Al passed, Barb worked for Mary Corriveau at West Suburban Insurance. Barb could often be found solving crossword puzzles, gardening or sewing/knitting prayer shawls, blankets, and hats for outreach ministries though her church. She very much enjoyed camping, taking trips to Canada with Al, her parents & her sister's families, educational trips to see Washington DC & other historical sites when Audra and Amy were kids, and fishing trips with her grandson Daniel. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Barb will be dearly missed by her daughter Audra Woerner; daughter Amy Woerner and her childhood best friend and "sister," Shelly Lukowitz; grandson Daniel Woerner; great-granddaughter Madelyn Woerner; and nephews Gary (Carol) Moss, Wayne (Debbi) Moss, Steve (Mary) Albright, and Mark (Lori) Albright. She is further survived by other great nieces &nephews, other relatives, and life-long friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sisters Marion Albright, and Estine Moss.
