Delores J. Bain Obituary

Delores Jean Bain (nee Beversdorf), cherished wife, mother, and grandmother, was welcomed into the arms of her loving Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 18, 2024.

Delores enjoyed going out and dancing with John Richard Bain, her beloved husband of 68 years. She has now joined an even more joyful heavenly dance with Jesus while once again being reunited with John.

Delores was born in Shawano, WI on November 19, 1927, the daughter of David August Beversdorf and Aurelia Elva (Moede) Beversdorf. Delores is preceded in death by John as well as three of her sisters, Dorothy, Phyllis, and Marilyn. Delores' surviving sister, Jean, lives in Green Bay, WI.

Additional survivors include daughter Carrie Murphy (Patrick) and sons Daniel Bain (Julie) and Steven Bain (Janeen) along with grandchildren Rachel Bain, Timothy Bain (Kathryn), Christopher Murphy, Rebekah Bain, Jenna Bain, David Bain, and Aaron Bain.

Delores grew up on her parents' dairy farm near Shawano, WI, and graduated from Shawano High School in 1946. Following high school, Delores attended beauticians' school in Milwaukee, WI where she met John on a bowling blind date with mutual friends. Delores married John on May 16, 1953, at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. When not raising her family, Delores worked as a hairdresser, at Northwestern National Insurance Company in Milwaukee, WI, at AAL in Appleton, WI, and at the Kohl's distribution center in Menomonee Falls, WI.

Delores' life centered around family and friends. She loved joining John on road trips throughout the country when not fishing, camping, boating, cross country skiing, bowling, golfing, or playing cards. She rarely missed a sporting event or musical performance by one of her children or grandchildren. Delores was an active long-time member of Grace Lutheran Church in Menomonee Falls and leaves an "A-OK" legacy of faith, family, and friendship with all she knew.

Visitation with family will be held at Schmidt and Bartelt Funeral Home, N84 W17937 Menomonee Avenue, Menomonee Falls, WI 53051 on Sunday, January 28, 2024, from 1pm until Delores' memorial service at 2pm.

Delores will be interred at Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano, WI during a private ceremony at a future date.
